Christian Vision’s 2023 Digital Day: Future Now

Bridging Mission and Technology for Global Evangelism

At the intersection of mission and technology, Christian Vision (CV) stands as a global ministry committed to introducing the world to Jesus.

Since its inception in 1988, CV has been at the forefront of leveraging advanced technology, global talent, and strategic partnerships to amplify its missional impact.

In a remarkable stride towards this commitment, CV proudly presents the 2023 edition of Digital Day: Future Now, its annual innovation conference that explores the role of technology in the mission field.

The mission and the journey

CV’s overarching mission is clear – to introduce a million people to Jesus each day, especially in predominantly unreached areas. The approach involves a synergistic blend of optimised social media advertising, effective gospel content creation, and a mix of on-the-ground and digital pioneering activities.

This strategy reflects a deep understanding of the contemporary world’s digital landscape and the importance of technology in reaching people with the gospel.

Digital Day: Exploring the future of technology and evangelism

At the epicentre of this commitment is Digital Day: Future Now, a one-day conference set to be held at King’s House, London, and livestreamed in multiple languages. With sessions delving into Ethical AI, Harnessing Gen-AI, Future-Readiness and more, Digital Day aims to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the evolving landscape where technology meets mission.

CV Managing Director, Heinz Oldewage, said the event is more than just a conference, but a testament to the continuous commitment of CV to adapt, evolve, and employ cutting-edge technology to share the message of Jesus with the world.

“As technology advances, so does the way we work,” he said. “Digital Day showcases how mission and technology converges for a more connected future and an even bigger global evangelical impact.”

In an exciting step towards revitalising its mission, yesHEis, an initiative of Christian Vision (CV), has proudly unveiled its dynamic new brand in August.

This strategic rebrand marked a profound change for yesHEis, and reinforced its commitment to empowering Christians to help the world know Jesus.

At the heart of this shift was a deep desire to transform the yesHEis product beyond an aesthetically pleasing logo, and embark on a journey of increased effectiveness in mobilising a global movement of Christians who evangelise.

yesHEis Product Manager, Frankie Du Toit, said the aim of yesHEis is to make it easy for Christians to find their purpose in personal evangelism and to share the gospel with those around them.

“This brand launch is not just a surface-level makeover; it’s a line in the sand, a declaration that we’re stepping into the future of what yesHEis represents – everyday Christians finding purpose in helping the world know Jesus,” he said.

“Together we will create a ripple effect that extends far beyond our immediate reach.

Navigating Transformation

As part of the rebrand, yesHEis underwent a soul-searching process to fine-tune its objectives. Initially driven by the pursuit of growing its audience, the brand’s focus shifted under the guidance of Du Toit.

“We realised that it’s not about the sheer numbers, but about the evangelism impact those numbers generate,” he said.

Doubling down on their commitment to mobilise Christians for evangelism, yesHEis has refined its approach to effectiveness.

“We asked ourselves, are we truly effective in mobilising Christians to evangelise? This question led us to reevaluate our core strategies.”

A Revitalised Purpose

The reimagined brand is firmly grounded in the belief that effective evangelism is personal.

“Our brand represents more than just a visual change. It’s a commitment to encouraging everyday Christians in a personal approach to evangelism and supporting their growth on this journey,” Du Toit said.

yesHEis has defined evangelism as, ‘a person, led by the Holy Spirit, engaging someone in their spiritual journey and intentionally taking actions to help them know Jesus’.

This definition fuels the refined brand message and provides a practical set of actionable steps that Christians can take, including offering to pray with non-Christians, initiating faith conversations, and sharing Gospel resources.

A Light in the Darkness

In collaboration with CV designer Ben Jones, yesHEis unveiled the visual brand inspired by the biblical passage, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

Jones explained the new design language was rooted in the metaphor of light, and served as a powerful visual expression of our purpose as Christians – to be a beacon of hope, a light in the darkness.

“The yesHEis brand illustrates this in the digital space, where light is made up of three parts – red, green, and blue (RGB),” he said.

“We use these colours to symbolise the actions of praying, connecting with people, and responding to the Holy Spirit – all essential to living a life dedicated to spreading the message of Jesus.

“The new brand mark represents this connection between light and our purpose as followers of Christ.”

A Collective Movement

The yesHEis community is a network of online spaces for Christians to talk about evangelism and share their experiences with us, allowing us to celebrate their progress.

“Our brand launch is not the destination; it’s the starting point for a new chapter,” Du Toit said.

“With a commitment to making every story count and sparking faith conversations, yesHEis reaffirms its mission to helping the world know Jesus.”

Together, as a united movement of Christians, yesHEis is poised to lead the digital landscape towards a brighter, more impactful future.

One of CV’s Chatbots drastically changed the life of Mr Budi*, a devoted Muslim man living in Jawa Barat, Indonesia.

Mr Budi responded to one of CV’s facebook ads which contained a video introducing people to Jesus. Interested and wanting to learn more, he chose to ask the Chatbot about the topic of forgiveness.

After learning biblical principles on forgiveness, Mr Budi wanted to be connected with one of CV’s pioneers, so that he could hear more about the gospel and how learning the good news would help him in his forgiveness journey.

The CV pioneer spoke with Mr Budi, who opened up to the pioneer about many challenges he was facing with his family. His wife had left him, and his young daughter had become pregnant outside of wed-lock. He was also facing economic challenges, which was another burden on top of everything else.

Our pioneer visited him in his home, where his pregnant daughter was also present in the room, and shared stories from the bible.

Both Mr Budi and his daughter were deeply touched and amazed by the gospel stories, and understood the power and love in God’s word. Both of them asked the pioneer to pray with them, so they could submit themselves to Jesus.

Because of this Chatbot and the faithful, diligent pioneer, both of these people are now saved with their lives tangibly changed.

The Church is a sacred place of community, support, fellowship, and spiritual growth. However, it is not exempt from imperfections which can lead to instances of church hurt. Sadly, many people have experienced this and it can leave lasting scars and hardened hearts.

Acknowledging that ministry involves flawed individuals is crucial in addressing and healing from these wounds. In the spirit of the Apostle Paul, who ministered to the struggling church in Corinth, CV has developed a transformative course titled ‘Overcoming Church Hurt’.

This course has been designed to equip church and ministry leaders with the necessary tools to help others focus on Jesus, and their relationship with him, rather than the disappointing nature of human beings.

Church hurt is not a novel concept; even in the New Testament, we can find examples of struggling churches like Corinth. In our modern context, this disappointment in ministry can create barriers between people and their faith.

Overcoming Church Hurt offers a compassionate approach to address this issue, and encourages leaders to empathise with, and guide those who have experienced ministry pain.

Christian leaders who complete this free course will learn practical steps to foster reconciliation and healing within their congregations.

  • How to position themselves correctly when dealing with someone who has experienced ministry pain.
  • How to use mindful listening, a transformative practice, which allows leaders to understand the emotions, perspectives, and needs of those who have been hurt.
  • How to demonstrate Jesus’ love through their lifestyle decisions and actions.
  • How to utilise personal experiences, struggles, and triumphs to create powerful building blocks for reconciliation.
  • How to shift the focus to God and guide individuals away from dwelling on the imperfections of people within the Church.
  • How to remind them of God’s unconditional love, grace, and healing power.

Together, let us create an environment of healing and growth, where every individual can experience the transformative power of reconciliation and deepen their relationship with God.

In today’s digital world, where millions of people spend a large portion of their time, the importance of learning how to evangelise in the digital realm cannot be overstated. Recognising this, CV has been at the forefront, sharing numerous training courses, resources, workshops, and articles on digital evangelism.

Our aim is to empower church and ministry leaders to effectively reach out to the vast online audience and contribute to the growth of God’s kingdom.

However, it is not enough for leaders to simply have the tools and knowledge to digitally evangelise – it is also important that they be equipped to respond to the engagement they receive online. To address this need, CV is introducing a groundbreaking nine-part video course that focuses on training church and ministry leaders in effectively responding to questions of faith encountered during their digital evangelism efforts.

Leading this course is Alisa Harewood, CV’s former UK Community Manager. With 16 years of senior management experience in global operations, Alisa brings a wealth of expertise to the table. But what truly sets her apart is her unique combination of skills and experiences in both the digital realm and ministry.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Alisa actively serves in children’s ministry and runs a successful online blog where she introduces people to Jesus. Her work at CV, her church, and her online presence have given her invaluable insights into the challenges and opportunities that arise in the intersection of faith and the digital world.

By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the skills and confidence to engage in meaningful conversations about faith, all within the context of the digital sphere. The training serves as a vital resource for leaders who are passionate about sharing the message of Christ online.

If this sounds like a course that would benefit you and your community, get started for free via the link below.

The National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) International Christian Media Convention is known as the world’s largest gathering of Christian communicators and ministry professionals. This event has been held since 1949 when the NRB formed a radio network that reversed a ban on paid religious broadcasting.

After this, evangelical radio broadcasters became a growing presence on radio networks, reaching vast audiences. This is the largest nationally and internationally recognised event, and is dedicated to assisting those in the field of Christian communication. Many Christian organisations participated in this event and made it an active marketplace for those seeking products, resources, and services to enhance their organisations.

This year, the event took place in Orlando, Florida, and it’s the third year that they have presented an event in Spanish for the Latino community.

Given this, CVCLAVOZ, an initiative of CV, was there with their ‘CVCLAVOZ Academy’. They provided workshops and insights into the strategies they use – including podcast creation, how to make content from scratch, and how to develop a transmedia or multi-platform marketing strategy. These resources and strategies were offered to others who attended.

The vast majority of attendees wanted to know more about the work of CVCLAVOZ and were eager for future workshops and training.

We praise God for this incredible outcome and continue to pray that these workshops will bless ministries and churches in need. To know more about CVCLAVOZ and the CVCLAVOZ Academy, visit this link: https://cvclavoz.com/

Join the Movement: Evangelise with The Chosen During Global Outreach Month.

This month will see millions of active believers around the world pray, care, and share as part of Global Outreach Month (GO Month).

What is Global Outreach Month?

GO Month is an initiative of one of CV’s global partners, GO Movement, which is a united and collaborative effort between multiple denominations and ministries, that aim to mobilise and equip Christians to witness to the world.

Thanks to CV’s great partnerships team, CV Resources has joined with GO Movement, as well as the makers of the renowned television series ‘The Chosen’ to help see this aim achieved.

The Chosen: A Tool for Evangelism.

Dallas Jenkins, creator and director of The Chosen, spoke about how the show can be a pivotal tool for Christians around the world as they share the gospel during this month.

“You can join 120 million people around the world in sharing your faith every day in the month of May,” Jenkins said.“One way to do that is to share videos from The Chosen.”

He also said he hopes the show encourages people to know and love Jesus more, and that this would lead to discipleship.

“That is where Christian Vision comes in, and GO Month comes in, and evangelism comes in – and hopefully clips from The Chosen come in – and you can use those each day.”

Why join the Global Outreach Month?

Global Outreach Month is significant because it provides an opportunity for millions of believers around the world to come together, at the same time, to engage in evangelism efforts, with the help of powerful tools like videos from The Chosen, to make a meaningful impact on spreading the gospel message to those who need it.

By partnering with GO Movement and The Chosen, CV is able to provide powerful resources for Christians to use in their evangelism efforts. This partnership allows CV to further its mission of introducing people to Jesus, mobilising Christians to evangelise, and resourcing the Church with free content and knowledge. It also allows CV to support GO Movement’s vision of mobilising tens of millions of believers to share the gospel until everyone has had the opportunity to hear it and decide for Christ.

Do you want to join in on this movement? Go to CV Resources where you can access ‘The Chosen Content Calendar’, a social media content calendar with 31 clips from The Chosen, available for free download. You will also find training, other gospel presentations, and videos that you can use freely.

Hear from Dallas Jenkins in the video below:

CV Resources has a library full of other gospel videos that are free to download and share at any time. To have access to these free resources, you can sign up to CV Resources through this link
